1. Can I customize the size?

Sure. If you like an estimate on ANOTHER MODEL or CUSTOM DIMENSIONS, then we need 3 things:

• Longest Length of pool
• Widest Width of pool
• Retractable Enclosure Type (See our design above)

2. What is the maximum size of an enclosure?

An enclosure can be custom-designed to almost any size.

3. With the enclosure, can I use my pool, spa, or patio all year round, especially in colder climates?

Yes, our enclosures are designed and built for year-round use. The polycarbonate panels allow the sun’s rays in while providing good insulation properties.

The enclosure’s frame is equipped with a vinyl sweep that seals in the warm air and keeps drafts out. This creates a warm, enclosed environment, minimizing heat loss.

4. Do I need a Permit?

The enclosure is designed to meet local building codes in some municipalities, the enclosure may be considered a temporary, removable structure, and a permit may not be necessary. You will need to contact your municipality to determine if a permit is needed. If required, XBH will assist you in providing any needed documentation or drawings.

5. What kind of foundation is required to install the sliding skylight enclosure on?

A flat, level surface is required. Any of the following is acceptable:

• Minimum 3.5″ thick foundation of reinforced concrete
• Pavers set in Concrete
• Wood/composite decking

6. Protection of the enclosure against heavy snow

You should prevent an accumulation of higher amounts of snow in the enclosure during winter. The weight of wet snow is several times higher than that of fresh snow. When removing the snow from the enclosure, it should be done symmetrically, preferably from both sides at once, so that the structure is not unevenly loaded.

7. What are the Features and Benefits of polycarbonate?

Polycarbonate panels are 3mm – 10mm thick (Approx 1/8″ – 1/2″ thick). They provide the perfect combination of strength, high impact resistance, good insulation, high clarity and light transmission. The polycarbonate is virtually unbreakable, flexible, lightweight, and weather-resistant and protects against harmful UV radiation.

8. Can I install the enclosure myself?

If you are a handy individual, you should be able to do so. The average dome enclosure requires two people, 2 – 4 hours to install. The floor rails are mounted to a flat surface, the panels are affixed to the rail, and the roof and doors are installed. Typical Pool enclosures require 2-4 people and take one to two days to install.
